Overview

In spring 2026, I took my second co-op at BCG X as a Product Marketing Co-op. Over the course of six months, I worked on various campaigns such as Products That Made Us and Tech Bites (an upcoming series).

What I worked on

Ran various amplification plans, writing social copy for thought leadership authors, BCG, BCG X, and practice area pages.

Led products through the application process for award programs, helping BCG X products get shortlisted as finalists at the CODiE Awards and AI Cloud Awards.

Reflection

Setting boundaries is key

During my co-op, I was in charge of working on multiple projects at the same time. As I took on various campaigns, it became clear that setting boundaries was incredibly important. By letting people know what you can do, you prevent expectations from becoming unrealistic. Through clear communication, people can understand what works best for you and what they can expect from you.

Don’t make assumptions and just ask for help

Working on a large, global team, I often completed heads-down work in the afternoons and had meetings in the morning or later in the day. This pushed me to work independently across many projects and make decisions on my own. While independence was important, I learned the importance of not making assumptions and simply asking for help. If you don’t know the answer, sometimes the best thing you can do is ask your project manager for their advice and thoughts before moving forward.
